Dr Meredith Owen is a leader in the field of periodontics and offers a range of treatments from her Newcastle, NSW practice.
Dr Owen obtained an Honours Degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph in Canada before studying Dentistry at the University of Sydney. She graduated with a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics from the University of Sydney and was awarded membership into the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Dr Owen has a special interest in education and has held teaching and mentoring roles at the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle. While at university, Dr Owen cofounded the Australian Dental Students’ Association, the national body that represents dental and oral health students around Australia. She is a trainer at the Swiss Dental Academy and a Study Club Director of the International Team for Implantology.
As an active leader in the dental community, Dr Owen has held various committee roles within the Australian Dental Association and is a former president of the Dental Alumni Society of the University of Sydney.
